PERMANENT MAKEUP Q&A

(MICROBLADING & OMBRE POWDER BROWS)

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading

is a semi permanent tattoo, the process in which a trained technician uses a handheld tool and pigment to create the appearance of hair strokes. In this process, the technician creates tiny superficial cuts that mimic hair strokes and fills it with pigment. This eyebrow technique allows you to create any shape, size or fluff you desire.

WHAT IS OMBRE POWDER?

Ombre Powder

is a semi permanent tattoo, it is a process in which a trained technician uses a handheld machine and pigment to create the appearance of a powder like finish. In this process, the technician creates tiny superficial dots on the epidermis layer of the skin that mimic powder filled brows. This is done in a Ombre manner, starting light at the front of the brows and goes dark towards the tail of the brows for a more dimensional brow finish.

IS MICROBLADING OR OMBRE POWDER BROWS SAFE?

Yes, it is safe as long as the guidelines are met. Please read over the eligibility section in the ”INFO” tab to see if you are a safe candidate for the procedure. If you are not, you must get a dr’s note to be able to proceed with the procedure. We take our clients safety very seriously.

At INKED BEAUTY, we are professionally trained and certified by the health department. We are compliant with all the forms and procedures. DOES MICROBLADING OR OMBRE POWDER FOR EYEBROWS HURT?

Procedure is relatively pain free for the Ombre powder brows but can go up to moderate for Microblading. Some, feel a little bit of discomfort and some have gone through the process without the numbing cream with ease. If you prefer not to take a chance, we offer numbing cream to ALL CLIENTS!

DO I GET TO SEE WHAT THE MICROBLADING OR OMBRE POWDER BROWS WILL LOOK LIKE BEFORE DOING THE PROCEDURE?

Yes, definitely! We want to make sure you are able to get a good idea of what it will look like. We will measure and map out your eyebrows, and check in with you before proceeding. If you would like changes made before we start, we are happy to do it!

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR MY APPOINTMENT FOR MICROBLADING OR OMBRE POWDER BROW? DO I NEED TO PREP ANYTHING?

You are only required to bring a photo ID. Some things recommended for your appointment;

  1. Headphones, if you would like to listen to music during your procedure.

  2. Snacks, in case you feel hungry and want a 5 minute break.

  3. Earplugs, if you would like to sleep/rest. Yes, some people fall asleep.

  4. Sweater/Jacket in case you feel cold. Air conditioner in the procedure room must stay on.

  5. Foundation/Makeup, in case you want to touch up your makeup for the “after” pictures. During the procedure, parts of your foundation around the brows will be removed. I would also recommend you to put makeup on before your appointment, if you would like to be picture perfect for the “before” and “after” photos.

Yes, you do need to prep before your appointment. Please follow the pre-care instructions in the “INFO” tab. The pre-care is there for the best and smoothest results. By not following directions, you are risking blotchy healed brows, scarring, poor ink intake, bleeding, …etc

Please note, no other person may enter the procedure room. It will only be you and your technician.

HOW LONG DOES THE APPOINTMENT TAKE?

Ombre powder brows

2-4 hours

Microblading

2-3 hours

Varies person to person. This includes filling out paper work,  numbing process, mapping the eyebrows to choose a shape and size, and tattoo procedure.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED A TOUCH UP?

Usually every 1-2 years for microblading and 1-3 years for the Ombre Powder, this will depend on many factors such as your skin type/ skin routine/ environmental factors..etc.

CAN YOU COVER OLD TATTOOS?

Depends, most tattoos yes. Some of the traditional tattoos are more difficult to work with. They are deeply layered verses the softer approach used today. Most of the time, the traditional tattoos require tattoo removal and resting period for the skin before being able to be worked on again. However, you can send us a picture of your eyebrows and we can tell you what can and cannot be done. In some cases, clients get it completely removed before coming to us, which is also another option available.

IS ONE VISIT ENOUGH?

We recommend two sessions for new clients who have never done any permanent makeup procedure to their eyebrows. The second session is free anyway, no cost to you! After that, it depends on how long your skin can retain the tattoo. It can take another 1 year to 3 years for you to come back for a touch up.

I JUST GOT MY BROWS DONE, WILL MY EYEBROWS STAY THIS DARK?

No, definitely not. The process and ink used is meant to look dark initially. The results fade into a much softer finish. Fading is about 30-50%. We recommend you to check healed results on our Instagram page, that is going to be your final result.

There are artists out there who’s initial results are lighter, however they come out very soft and fade a lot faster overtime. If this is the result you want, please keep in mind you would have to come back once a year to keep up those results.

HOW LONG UNTIL MY NEWLY DONE BROWS HEAL?

It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal. It takes about a month for the color to fully set in. So final results will be seen at 4 weeks!

MY BROWS DID NOT SEEM TO TAKE IN THE INK. I JUST FINISHED THE 7-14 DAYS OF HEALING PROCESS. IS THIS NORMAL?

Yes, this is normal. Right after the 7-14 day healing process it will appear lighter then the final results. You must wait a full month for the final results to take in.

DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW EVERYTHING ON THE PRE-CARE AND AFTER-CARE LIST FOR THE MICROBLADING OR OMBRE POWDER BROW?

We cant make you follow the list, but that list is there for you to have the best possible outcome for your brows. By not following directions, you are risking blotchy healed brows, scarring, poor ink intake, bleeding, …etc

WHY ARE MY NEWLY DONE EYEBROWS CRACKING AND PEELING?

This happens during the healing process. Your skin is renewing itself, a process of healing the area. A reminder! Please do not try to peel off any of the scabs. Allow the brows, to heal themselves to prevent a blotchy and uneven outcome.
